Established in 1920, Bentley School is a K-12 co-educational, independent day school located on two campuses in Oakland (K-8) and Lafayette (9-12), California. Bentley School is an inclusive community that shares a vision of academic achievement, balance, and the cultivation of character.
The Registrar works diligently in supporting administrators, teachers, and the College Counseling Office. The Registrar is charged with curating academic records, constructing student schedules, and helping balance the needs of facilities, faculty, and families as students matriculate at the school and other tasks as directed by the school’s administration.
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
Maintaining all student information including, but not limited to, attendance records, registration forms, schedules, rosters, transcripts, course changes, and other materials
Overseeing the student information system and course management system K-12
Creating and managing all student schedules, as well as the master schedule, with the support of the Division Heads, Deans of Academics, and other administrators
Aiding administrators with the scheduling process
Supporting parents, students, and teachers through scheduling and course selection and processing all schedule changes and requests
Working with Director of Admissions, K-12 to collect and maintain incoming student information
Supporting College Counseling in matters of academic advising and student records
Working with colleagues to provide support for curricular, co-curricular, and special events on campus including but not limited to graduation, final exams, Advanced Placement exams, and Mini-Term
Assisting with management of A-G requirements for University of California/California State University, College Board, and National Collegiate Athletic Association
A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Superior organizational and interpersonal skills
Extensive expertise working with Excel, Microsoft Office, the Google App Suite, and, ideally, enrollment management software, and learning management software
Registrar experience, preferably at an independent school
Flexibility along with a sense of humor and “can do” approach in supporting colleagues and creating a positive workplace
Enthusiasm for working with young people and as a member of a team of professionals
