Job Summary: The Assistant to the Director of Athletics is responsible for assisting in developing, maintaining and implementing a highly efficient, organized, and professional Athletics Department. As the first contact with many constituents, a welcoming positive customer service attitude is essential. Congenial and efficient communication with students, faculty, coaches, families and community is a requirement.
Essential Job Functions:
Assists the Physical Education Department in performing duties as assigned:
Plan and lead classes as assigned
Perform coaching duties across a number of various sports under the policy and procedures of the Athletic Department
Assess student, monitor student progress, maintain grades and parent communication
Assist in maintenance and storage of equipment
Assist in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct
Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to ensure student safety
Support the Director of Athletics in all areas of responsibilities
Attend Athletic Directors meetings with Athletics Director and record minutes
Conduct confirmation checks in advance of each event to make sure the following are accurate:
League scheduling grid
Change of event forms
Game Day Protocols
Meet regularly with Athletic Director
Assist with setup and breakdown for games
Maintain a positive, highly efficient, organized, professional and confidential manner in all aspects of the job
Maintain and direct the personal calendar of the Director of Athletics
Provide efficient verbal and written clerical support for the Athletics Director and Athletics Department
Assist in creating all policy and procedure handbooks and documents that support the Athletic department
Provide assistance and clerical support for the Athletic Director, as well as office management/receptionist functions for the athletics office including managing calendars
Coordinate all needs for Athletic Department Meetings and other special athletic events: reserving rooms, set-up rooms, attend, record and distribute meeting minutes
Coordinate with cross-department administration on projects, events, activities
Other duties as deemed necessary by the immediate supervisor.

3-5 years coaching experience
CPR and First Aid Certified
