The Nursery Teacher is responsible for the homeroom life of approximately 12 students and plans, implements, and reviews curricula. Working closely with an associate teacher, they establish a sense of community for the students and their families during this first year of school.
Planning lessons and tailoring instruction to meet students’ individual needs, based on classroom scope and sequence
Collaborating closely with grade-level teachers and specialists regarding grade-level curriculum and student progress
Coordinating with faculty colleagues, families, and outside support specialists to best support student growth
Communicating student progress and goals through family conferences, home reports, meetings with parents, and emails home.
A Master’s degree and three years of experience as a lead teacher
Understanding of early childhood development and how a child transitions into the school environment
Warm and positive demeanor
