Georgetown Visitation Preparatory School invites applications for full-time and part-time positions as a Spanish and/or Latin teacher in the Foreign Language Department for the 2019 – 2020 academic year. Located in Washington, DC, and founded in 1799, Georgetown Visitation Preparatory School educates young women in grades 9 – 12 in a faith-centered community focused on educational excellence and rooted in the Roman Catholic faith and Salesian tradition.
The Foreign Language Department offers students a four-year sequence in Spanish or French, as well as a two-year sequence in introductory Latin. Fluency and cultural competency across multiple languages is valued, as is the ability to work closely with departmental colleagues in a collaborative setting. Department needs in 2019 - 2020 include a year-long leave replacement and a permanent position.
Qualified candidates should have a strong academic background in their language/s and previous teaching experience, along with energy, enthusiasm, and a desire to communicate and work with young women.
