The English Teacher creates and implements curriculum under the direction of the World Languages and Literature Domain Dean, the Head of Upper School, and the Director of Academics. This position is for the 2019-2020 Academic Year.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Teacher works closely with the Cultural History teacher as well as the grade level team to present the grade level narrative in an integrative fashion.
Candidates must be interested in teaching in a program that emphasizes the integration of culture into the program.
Responsibilities also include curriculum development, sequencing and integration, student evaluation, and placement.
Candidates for the English Teacher at Ross should have experience teaching literature and English grammar and composition at a high school level.
Candidates should have a strong background in engaging diverse populations of high school students in literature and writing.
He or she should show passion for a variety of literature, and an openness to explore outside of his or her area of specialty.
