Opening: After School Middle School Choir position
Position to begin September 2019
Stanley British Primary seeks an individual to teach an After School Middle School Choir for middle school students. This individual will work with students 1-2 hours per week, providing them the opportunity to practice choral music and to prepare to perform at various Stanley events.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide a positive, inclusive, and nurturing After School Choral program to interested 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students.
Prepare students to perform at various Middle School events, including Grandpeople’s Day assembly in November, the Holiday Program assembly in December, and potentially other events throughout the year.
Notes about the position:
The position will be filled based on expressed interest from students on a trimester basis and will only be filled if more than 15 students express interest in the offering.
The Middle School choir offering is an optional, after school, extracurricular activity.
Desired Qualifications and Background Experience:
An appreciation for and understanding of Stanley British Primary’s philosophy of education, including the 7 goals for learners of self-awareness, collaboration, respect, curiosity, perseverance, academic resourcefulness, and joyful, lifelong learning
A deep enjoyment of working with kids and getting to know them as individual people, honoring and valuing each individual child.
A commitment to, enjoyment of, and appreciation of the development needs of middle school students.
A commitment to improving one’s craft and growing professionally, modeling the joyful, lifelong learning we seek to impart to our students.
A bachelor’s degree in music, music education, or a related field is required; experience teaching choral music to middle school students is preferred.
