LearningSpecialist, ESL, & Evening Assisted Study proctor
Dublin School, an independent and intentionally small 9-12 boarding school set in rural southwestern New Hampshire, is seeking a LearningSpecialist and Evening Assisted Study proctor for the 2018-19 academic year. As LearningSpecialistthe individual will work with students in a 1:1 capacity to support them in the development of effective learning skills, improved self-awareness and self-advocacy, and higher achievement. Another dimension of this position is 1:1 or 1:2 instruction in English as A Second Language for international students. As Evening Assisted Study proctor, the individual will work with a small group of students during evening study hall hours to facilitate effective homework production.
To be considered for this position candidates must be familiar with learning differences and have the ability to individualize instruction based upon student profiles. A demonstrated ability to form positive relationships, serve as a role model for intellectual engagement, and work with adolescents in small group and/or 1:1 setting is essential. Candidates must display strong verbal and written communication skills, a commitment to ongoing professional growth and a willingness to collaborate with all individuals involved in a student's education. A Master's degree with a background in special education is preferred. Individuals must be highly organized, diligent and display excellent follow-through. The position requires professionalism and confidentiality. Note: this position does not include on-campus housing.
