Jack M. Barrack Hebrew Academy seeks a full time instructor/manager for our STEAM Lab. The ideal candidate will be familiar with STEM/STEAM education and interested in facilitating project based learning in middle and upper school curriculum. The ideal candidate will be highly organized and familiar with manufacturing processes that are utilized in a fabrication lab environment.
We are looking for candidates with the following skills (no need to have ALL of the below):
Computer programming (anything from Scratch to Java to Processing to Arduino)
3D Printing/CAD design (Sketchup, TinkerCAD, SolidWorks, AutoDesk, etc)
Woodworking, soldering, power tools and the maker movement in education.
The Manager/Instructor for Makerspace/STEAM Lab candidate will:
Teach STEAM department classes as assigned by the STEAM director.
Support STEAM faculty in the instruction of STEAM electives and Engineering courses.
Support the implementation of STEAM integration throughout the school as directed by the STEAM director.
Support our robotics program.
Support student projects in the STEAM Lab.
Manage the daily operation, maintenance, and organization of the STEAM Lab.
Maintain inventory and order expendable materials as needed.
The Makerspace/STEAM lab Manager/Instructor will report to the STEAM director.
