The Churchill High School, a school for high functioning students with language-based learning disabilities, is seeking assistant science teachers for biology, chemistry and environmental science for 2019-2020 school year.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Support Head Teacher:
planning curriculum, lessons, and assignments
grading student work and participation
taking attendance each period
maintaining website with course documents and assignments
tracking students' work and progress
developing critical thinking, problem solving skills, and tools to become independent, college-bound learners
break-down / scaffold assignments
knowledge of and interest in general science
classroom experience or experience building positive, appropriate relationships with teens
knowledge of, or experience with learning disabilities
experience with smartboards, google drive, and technology in the classroom
interest in becoming a head teacher and pursuing professional development in special education
patient and organized
