Browne Academy seeks an enthusiastic, passionate, and experienced lower school science teacher to work within a collaborative and inquiry-based curriculum. The kindergarten through 4th grade science teacher is responsible for providing direct instruction to students to help them develop an understanding, appreciation, and love of science. Candidates should have elementary education experience, a passion for science, and be willing to use our campus and local environment within the curriculum. Related bachelor's degree required, a master's degree is preferred. Browne Academy’s lower school science teacher must also have a solid understanding of S.T.E.A.M., be able to incorporate hands-on learning experiences and technology into daily classroom lessons, and work collaboratively with other teachers in cross-curricular projects.
Adhering to the school’s curriculum, prepare and execute thoughtful units of study designed to reach the different learning styles of the students in the classroom.
Regularly assess student learning using a variety of tools and means throughout each trimester. Maintain regular communication with classroom teachers, parents, and administrators concerning student progress or issues.
Maintain a safe and engaging learning environment.
Consistently and clearly communicate with colleagues, administrators, and parents regarding student work and classroom projects.
Attend regular faculty meetings.
Collaborate with teachers to ensure integration with other subjects.
Plan, organize, and conduct field trips.
Attend and assist with assemblies and special events, some of which occur outside of normal school hours.
Actively participate in all in-service and orientation days.
