Germantown Friends School is seeking a Lower School classroom teacher for the 2019-2020 year. Candidates should enjoy engaging with curious, thoughtful children and collaborating with creative and intellectual colleagues, and their teaching should demonstrate an ability to reach students in a variety of ways.
Experience with the Investigations Mathematics and/ or the Contexts for Learning Mathematics programs, the Reading/Writing Workshop model, and integration of different curricular areas is beneficial. Previous classroom teaching experience and a Masters degree are preferred.
Other responsibilities include serving as a mentor to an assistant teacher and participating actively in committee work with fellow faculty. We expect faculty to thoughtfully engage in our diversity, equity, and inclusion work in the Lower School and throughout the community.
