Island Pacific Academy is currently accepting resumes for a Secondary (6-12) Design Technology teacher for the 2019-2020 school year. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching at the middle and high school level.
At the middle school level, students in the Design Technology courses engage in developing transdisciplinary projects, often community-based, that incorporate a variety of technological tools and media, and are grounded in Design Thinking. We are currently seeking a teacher to teach courses in Middle School Design Technology and High School Jewelry Making.
Responsibilities include developing interactive instructional programs to engage students in the learning process and collaborating with the curriculum coordinator and teacher colleagues to develop curriculum. The learning environment at IPA is founded in the constructivist approach, is highly interactive and students are encouraged to learn through inquiry and hands-on experiences. Other attributes of an ideal candidate include experience providing differentiated instruction based on student need, effective communication skills, flexibility, and knowledge of social-emotional learning skills development.

A Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education with commensurate skills, or in a related field.

At least two years experience teaching Design Technology, Graphic Design, or Jewelry Making at the middle or high school level.
