Position Summary: The Help Desk Technician I works with the IT team to ensure that Milken Community Schools (middle and upper school) teachers, students, administration, and staff are provided timely, accurate, and appropriate support in missioncritical information and technology. This includes support related to computer systems, software, and hardware. Support may be provided via phone, email, or inperson meetings with faculty, students, administration and staff and issues are resolved to the end user’s satisfaction. Provide oneonone enduser training as needed. Solve and troubleshoot problems related to desktop computers, laptops, tablets, and A/V equipment (projector, Apple TV, Pixie Panels, etc).
Qualifications: Help Desk Technician I must hold a High School Diploma and one (1) to three (3) years of directly related work experience. Experience and training in a network environment and knowledge of network protocol preferred. He or she must be flexible and a creative problem solver. Qualified candidate is teamoriented and committed to regular professional development to maintain skills.

General knowledge of Mac OS X and Windows PC devices for troubleshooting
General knowledge of A/V equipment for troubleshooting

Other Necessary Functions: As the Help Desk Technician I is part of the Information Technology team, s/he must be prepared to provide support to other members of that team in the event of urgent situations that might arise. As IT at Milken supports the capacity of faculty and administrators to innovate, there will be times when the Help Desk Technician I will be called on to provide inclassroom support to teachers, as well as group training sessions on technology.
