The Archer School for Girls, an educational community that supports and challenges young women to discover their passions and realize their true potential, is seeking a part-time Choir/A Cappella director beginning in August 2019. The candidate must be an exceptional choral director, able to train young voices, conduct ensembles, sight read, arrange vocal and instrumental parts, and modify challenging music to the appropriate skill level. In addition, the candidate must have experience directing a cappella groups and mixed-level choirs. The position may also include teaching middle school vocal and upper school songwriting classes.
Responsibilities include leading middle school and upper school choirs, middle and upper school a cappella groups, winter and spring concert performances, and performances at various other school events. A bachelor’s degree in music is necessary; a master’s degree in Music or Music Education is preferred. Expertise in using and integrating musical engineering technology is a plus.
