The Masters School seeks a passionate and energetic teacher of Latin for a full-time leave replacement role in the Upper School from August 19 – November 12, 2019.
The teacher will play an active role in the life of the Upper School and be a full member of a strong department that bridges two divisions.
Teach US Latin (4 or 5 sections depending on course placement/selection)
Successfully engage and develop student’s interest and enthusiasm for the subject matter
Attend full faculty meetings, Modern and Classical Languages Department meetings, and Latin program meetings
Encouraged to participate in the life of the Upper School by attending occasional student presentations and performances and culminating events

At least three years of teaching experience and/or deep expertise in Latin/Classical Studies
Understanding of and desire to work with high-school aged students
Familiar with/and willing to explore student-centered pedagogical approaches
Proven ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Energy, enthusiasm and curiosity – willingness to be a fellow learner with students
Proficient in the use of technology
Demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion and a high degree of cultural competency
