Francis W. Parker School is a renowned JK-12th grade independent day school. We are currently seeking an experienced Assistant Athletic Director to support the Athletic Director in implementing, coordinating and maintaining all athletic programs for students in 6th through 12th grade. This position shares responsibility for the overall direction and coordination of the athletic department. Shared responsibilities include, but are not limited to, maintaining an engaged and responsive coaching staff; organizing team schedules in the most efficient manner for students throughout the school year; and providing routine communication to others on a variety of matters related to the athletic program. The Assistant Athletic Director must work cooperatively with the department's coaching staff, as well as various entities on and off-campus.
Schedule all non-conference fall, winter, and spring sporting events for Middle and Upper Schools.
Assign, confirm, and pay all officials.
Oversee and maintain the Transportation, Equipment and Uniform budget.
Travel to other sites to view field for conditions, confer with Athletic Director and make a decision on whether to play a game or cancel it.
Assist in passing out, collecting and tracking all uniform inventory and equipment.
Schedule and oversee all transportation needs.
Make sure buses arrive and teams depart safely.
Ensure all sporting events & directions are accurately displayed on the School’s website.
Supervise games on field, in gyms or parks after school.
Assist in game management duties Monday-Saturday.
Schedule all off campus practice and competitions spaces.
Ensure all IHSA duties are attended to through correspondence with Principal.
Collect and track all IHSA and FWP Forms and confirm eligibility of all student-athletes.
Assist in coordinating all departmental special events (Homecoming, "White Out, Spring Event, IHSA State Series).
Track all individual and team accomplishments and order awards accordingly.
Assist in filling vacant coaching positions.
Assist in the interviewing, hiring, and mentoring of new coaches.
Assist in the hiring and paying of all game officials, timers, and scorekeepers.
Work in conjunction with the maintenance staff daily to ensure competition and spaces are reserved and set-up accordingly.
Work in conjunction with Parent Athletics Committee and Student Athletic Council.
Assist Athletic Director in observing and evaluating coaches.
Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.

Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Administration, Physical Education or a related discipline, MA preferred
3-5 years of experience preferred
Coaching experience helpful
First Aid/AED Certification and have passed the IHSA Concussion Exam required
First-hand knowledge of the overall operation of an athletic program
Knowledge of applicable laws, codes, policies, and regulations
Keen ability to develop effective working relationships
First Aid Certification required
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Strong knowledge of Chicagoland athletic facilities
