The Director of Athletics, a member of the Oxbridge Academy Senior Leadership Team, is responsible to plan, direct and oversee the operations and fiscal health of the athletics department.
Leads by activity and example, to develop, organize and supervise and continually evaluate the department’s functioning
Creates procedures and policies that enable and encourage the optimum performance of the department
Articulates to the department the strategies in achieving the mission and goals of the school and to set department objectives, assessments, and policies
Ensures that all staff is continually performing duties at the very highest level of professionalism
Ensures that all positions in department are filled with competent, properly trained staff
Prepares, submits and administers a budget for department each year
Works closely with the Senior Leadership Team to assess and evaluate departmental issues to develop and oversee an action plan to address these issues
Conducts regular analysis, evaluation and review of the department’s activities and provides to senior leaders reports and recommendations
Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with other directors, managers and external stakeholders to meet the school’s goals and objectives
Develops short- and long-term strategies for the department and staff
Maintains availability to supervise the staff and provide feedback
Communicates with parents, students, and staff as needed
Conveys information to members of the department regarding plans, resources, and activities that affect the department

5+ years of experience in the nonprofit sector preferred
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with all the school’s constituents while maintaining strict confidentiality
Superb verbal and written communication skills
Experience working with and motivating student athletes, volunteers and staff members
