Soundview Preparatory School seeks an energetic and dedicated Director of Admissions. Soundview is an independent, coeducational, college preparatory, day school for students in grades 6-12 located in Yorktown Heights, NY that provides a student-centered experience in academics, the arts, athletics, and community service. Soundview is committed to providing students a safe, supportive environment in which to find their true voice and grow into their individual potential.
The Director of Admissions is an integral member of the School’s Administrative Team. The position is responsible for the successful management and evaluation of the school’s integrated recruitment, marketing, and admissions strategy, as well as financial aid processes. The Director reports directly to the Head of School.
Key duties include:
Develop and cultivate a forward-thinking admission process
Oversee the 6-12 admission process and the enrollment of new students
Develop admissions criteria to help attract and retain a diverse student pool
Develop a highly visible and engaging marketing strategy
Guide and oversee the daily operations of the admissions process
Guide and oversee the financial aid process, including advising on the establishment of a new process for awarding aid
Participate in the broader school community as an active and positive member
Qualified candidates should possess thefollowing education & experience:
Minimum of 5-7 years in an educational setting, with prior experience working in admissions
Detail-oriented, with the capacity to effectively and efficiently manage numerous small and large tasks
Proficiency with Windows and Apple OS, Microsoft Office, G Suite, and other productivity and media software
Working knowledge of technology systems, including networks and hardware management
An entrepreneurial spirit, taking the school into a new phase of active, cohesive admissions, marketing, and financial aid
