A co-ed, nonsectarian school, it serves a diverse community of about 1,700 students on two campuses -- one in the Riverdale section of the Bronx, and the other in Manhattan. The Upper School, located in the Bronx, is comprised of approximately 600 students and 80 faculty members.

Fieldston Upper School is seeking an experienced Administrative Assistant to the Deans for its front office to join the Assistant to the US Principal in maintaining a welcoming and collaborative office environment for faculty, students, and parents.
The ideal candidate will have a friendly disposition, exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, a proven record of working collaboratively with others, the ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information, and excellent verbal and written communication skills. The ideal candidate will also demonstrate a genuine commitment to the values and mission of the School. A passion for working with upper school students, a flexible attitude, a commitment to lifelong learning, and a sense of humor are essential for this position. The Fieldston Upper School Administrative Assistant must move comfortably between the macro and micro aspects of the job and interact comfortably with students, parents, faculty, staff, and the entire ECFS community.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide general administrative support to the Deans of Forms III-VI
Provide Deans with monthly task reminders (i.e. trip planning, communications etc.)
Organize various trips and school activities, including annual overnight trips.
Make arrangements with camps, hotels and bus companies.
Collect information for trips and other school activities, ensuring that all students have submitted appropriate forms.Assist with organization of graduation ceremony.
Proof graduation documents for the print shop
Daily posting of bulletin and other pertinent school information.
Issue working papers to students.
Handle C- and below forms, including compiling of individual reports for advisors and composite for deans.
Assist the Director of Student Programs as needed.
Take student attendance in Attendance Coordinator’s absence.
Provide support to the Registrar and Upper School Office staff as needed.
Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Well-developed interpersonal, collaboration, and relationship skills.
Proficient with technology, including various data systems, Google platform and apps.
Must be an energetic self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and juggle multiple tasks.
High level of flexibility and the willingness to do various levels of work as required.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Good judgment and problem-solving skills.
Must relate to and enjoy being with students.
Minimum of 3 years of proven experience with office administration—in a school setting preferred.
