The Louise S. McGehee School is now accepting applications for a dynamic, innovative, full-time Teacher for the lower school who enthusiastically invests his or herself in all aspects of the education process and the school-wide community. Qualified candidates will possess an undergraduate degree in education, strong classroom management skills, and will have at least two years of classroom teaching experience at the PreK and/or Kindergarten level, ideally in an all-girls or independent school setting. Desired teaching skills include knowledge/experience in the following areas: multiple forms of assessment, student differentiation, early childhood development, and curriculum design. Master’s degree in education is preferred.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Demonstrate a passion for teaching and leading.
Teach with an exceptional understanding of learning at the PreK/K level.
Create dynamic sequential lesson plans that meet the needs of the students and include hands-on, inquiry based activities.
The teacher should be creative in the use of age-appropriate techniques and technologies
Willingness to participate in scheduled duties such as carpool, recess, lunch, etc. .
Be an active member of the lower school faculty.
Clearly and effectively communicate with faculty, students, and parents.
