This position supports the mission of the school by working with faculty and students to facilitate the use and integration of technology into the school’s curriculum and activities. This role will support the implementation and maintenance of the student 1:1 program, as well as teach a computer-science related course, and provide instructional support to teachers wishing to integrate technology into their curriculum. This is a full-time, 11 months per year position and works the months of August through June each year.
Essential Functions Include:
Support the Student 1:1 Program:
Support the implementation of our 1-1 program by co-leading and designing the on boarding curriculum, setting up machines, helping students access loaner devices, and perform spot troubleshooting.
Provide ongoing administration of the student 1:1 program by addressing student needs daily.
Troubleshoot and support all aspects of technology use as well as provide general assistance to faculty questions or issues.
Research and purchase A/V equipment, computer hardware and computer software in conjunction with IT department.
Teach a Technology-related academic course (.25 FTE)
Teach one section of a coding course.
Coordinate curricula with other teachers and grade level teachers.
Plan and participate in a 2 week intensive course known as a Summit each year.
Participate fully in the life of the school which includes collaborating effectively and collegially with a teaching team, grade-level, and department; engage regularly in formal, ongoing professional development beyond school based in-service; support colleagues and the school by substituting for absent teachers; participate in meetings, committees, and community gatherings; and know, understand, and uphold the mission, philosophy and values of the school. All teachers contribute to the school mission and community with activities such as supporting student SEL, interest groups (clubs), social events, and grade level trips.
Support Technology Integration
Providing leadership and assistance to faculty in determining how best to integrate technology tools into the curriculum, including collaborating on overall curriculum and specific projects or lessons.
Supporting the implementation and development of the school’s strategic plan, including working with all teachers to improve and expand their use of technology.
Providing formal and informal technology professional development to faculty.
Creating and delivering technology orientation to new faculty, students, and parents.
Training teachers in setting up and maintaining OBA pages, updating curriculum, and integrating technology in their projects and activities.
Teaching lessons to grade levels, individual classes, or advisory sections as necessary.
All candidates must demonstrate a commitment to the school’s mission, values, and philosophy, especially related to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and environmental sustainability.
A bachelor's degree and 2 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.
Demonstrated success with culturally responsive pedagogy.
Experience teaching a diverse student body through a social justice lens.
Experience in a similar Educational Technology position.
Experience in presenting information to groups, formally and informally.
Demonstrated maintenance of expertise on education and technology issues and applications and shares this expertise as appropriate with faculty and students.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students.
Experience with teaching Computer Science, Robotics, Art or Electronics.
