Hamlin Robinson School, located in the North Beacon Hill neighborhood of Seattle, Washington, is an independent, non-profit, accredited, state-approved, elementary and middle day school offering a comprehensive educational program to serve students with dyslexia and other language related difficulties. Position: Capital Campaign Coordinator
Reports to: Head of School and Director of Advancement
Job Classification: Temporary, full-time exempt position
The Capital Campaign Coordinator is primarily responsible for the administrative activities of the Hamlin Robinson School Capital Campaign. The Campaign Coordinator shall work closely with the Head of School, Advancement Director, and campaign counsel (Campaign Team), as well as with other school staff and volunteers to plan, formulate, develop, and execute a successful campaign. The work will include determining strategies to develop donor and volunteer participation, setting benchmarks to assess progress, and evaluating and tracking activities for prospects and donors. The Campaign Coordinator shall assist in creating campaign material and data as well as coordinating committee and volunteer meetings and appointments. Occasional evening and weekend work will be required.
Assist the Campaign Team with planning, implementing, evaluating and managing a comprehensive fund raising effort to build capital campaign support from individuals, foundations, and corporations.
Contribute to the management of the campaign (including volunteer assignments, oversight and motivation; the preparation of materials for committee meetings; and preparation for cultivation and solicitation of major gift prospects).
Work with Campaign Team and Cabinet to determine and execute stewardship activities with donors (including major donor recognition and special events, gift and pledge processing, tracking, and acknowledgment, etc.)
Participate in campaign and major donor planning and cultivation.
Develop and maintain confidential, orderly, current, and accurate capital campaign database and records.
Prepare and maintain campaign reports, including volunteer assignments, pending lists, campaign progress report, and volunteer roster.
Create fund raising materials, financial reports, and correspondence.
Provide prospect research on donors or new prospects.
Cultivate and maintain positive interactions with the public and positive interpersonal relations with the Board of Directors, other volunteers, and prospects.
Provide other support to Campaign Cabinet and (future) Steering Committee to achieve the desired goals (including scheduling appointments and meetings, organizing focus groups and mailings, etc.)
Operate within a campaign and development budget.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Head of School, Director of Advancement, and Campaign Counsel.
Minimum 5 years of successful experience in capital campaigns and/or major gift solicitation is desired
Experience in fundraising and working with and motivating volunteer committees
Broad-based fundraising training and experience in increasingly responsible positions
Record of providing excellent staff support and volunteer leadership
Highly organized, motivated, strategic thinker, self-starter with proven interpersonal,
Able to work flexible and variable hours, detail oriented, and possess superior organizational skills
Thorough knowledge of prospect research, cultivation, and solicitation techniques desired
Experience working with diverse populations
Excellent communication skills (oral, written and presentation)
Excellent people skills and ability to relate with donors
Capable of maintaining confidentiality, professionalism, and work with tack and diplomacy.
Able to perform multiple responsibilities simultaneously, detail oriented, and strong creative problem solving skills.
Able to succeed in a fast-paced work environment.
Able to contribute to the team as well as work independently.
Demonstrated ability to follow through on responsibilities.
