Reporting to the Director of Development, the Director of Annual Giving has primary responsibility for the planning and implementation of a comprehensive Annual Giving Program. This person works closely with other development staff members to create and implement appropriate cultivation and solicitation strategies.
Duties andResponsibilities Include:
In coordination with the Director of Development, create a detailed annual fund plan
Screen, research and evaluate the school’s constituency, especially at the leadership level, to appropriately target donor gifts
Work collaboratively with the Development Committee
Oversee creation of solicitation letters and other printed materials promoting annual giving
Participate in solicitation/cultivation visits with major prospects, sometimes accompanied by volunteers, Head of School, Director of Development
Develop, manage and train parent committees for annual fund
Supervise the production of the annual gifts report
Organize and manage solicitation efforts for reunion class gifts in coordination with the Director of Alumni Relations
Coordinate events relating to the Fund for Tatnall (Annual Fund)
Ensure that the Annual Fund Program is coordinated with other development and institutional programs
Assist the Director of Development with other projects, as needed
Strong interpersonal, verbal and written skills
Strong computer skills; working knowledge and experience with Raiser’s Edge, Microsoft Word and Excel is essential
Strong background in marketing and securing annual gifts with a level of confidence in communication with prospective donors and volunteers
At least 5 years of experience in the field of Development
