Choate Rosemary Hall is seeking qualified candidates to fill the position of varsity head coach for girls' basketball. Coaching candidates may also apply for any open full-time positions listed on our employment page or just to this one as an adjunct coach.
Candidates applying for the position as a part of a teaching and/or administrative appointment to the faculty should be prepared to take on residential and other coaching duties traditionally associated with boarding school life. Adjunct candidates who apply will also be expected to meet the expectations noted below, but are not part of the teaching/administrative faculty and thus are not responsible for residential or additional coaching responsibilities.
Choate aspires to maintain a highly competitive girls' basketball team against traditional opponents in the context of an education-based athletics program. In addition to standard coaching responsibilities and team management, the head coach of varsity girls' basketball program assumes general oversight of sub-varsity teams and coordination of the girls' basketball coaching staff and is responsible for recruiting suitable student-athletes and assisting in the college placement process. The ideal coach will build and maintain a network of feeder programs and schools as well as strong relationships with division one and division three college coaches, particular in Ivy, NESCAC, and Patriot League institutions.
Please include a one-page statement articulating coaching philosophy and/or vision for a varsity basketball program.
