Germantown Friends School, a co-ed Quaker day school serving 1000 students in grades PreSchool-12, is seeking a skilled and experienced Admissions Director who will be responsible for recruiting and identifying mission appropriate applicants for grades 9-12. He/She will lead families and student applicants through the admissions process from inquiry to enrollment.
This is a twelve-month full-time position that reports to the Director of Enrollment Management. As a member of the Admissions team, this person will professionally and effectively market the unique attributes of Germantown Friends to assist in achievement of the school’s enrollment goals.
Primary job responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
Oversee the completion of all applications for grades 9-12; conduct tours and interviews with prospective families, assist with tour guide training, Clerk (direct) Admission Committee meetings, and follow up with all families through email, phone and mail contact.
Lead and support transition to new data system. Develop analytic reports, formats, and conduct analyses that support admissions and enrollment strategies and goals.
Facilitate applicant visits to upper school classes.
Conduct outreach to feeder schools and organizations, attend schools fairs, increasing visibility of GFS in the city and nearby suburbs, with particular attention to new relationships that increase diversity enrollment.
Assist in organizing and administering Open House events and neighborhood coffees
Participate in the life of the schools, including attending Upper School faculty meetings, assemblies, and Meeting For Worship
Assist with student retention goals
Bachelor’s degree or beyond.
Experience as an educator
Previous experience in independent school or higher education admissions preferred
Demonstrated proficiency with data modeling and analysis, new and emerging technology and admissions software, particularly with Veracross.
High levels of energy, teamwork, initiative, collaboration and familiarity with Quaker practice and decision-making
Strong writing and oral communication skills, discretion, attention to detail, grace under pressure, and a sense of humor
Commitment to Diversity and Multiculturalism and proven experience in engaging with students/families from diverse backgrounds for potential enrollment
Availability to work occasional nights and weekends
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google apps for Education
