Harrisburg Academy is looking for a collaborative, forward-thinking, and experienced Lower School Librarian for the start of the 2019-20 Academic Year to fulfill a three-fourths Library and Technology teacher position. Proven experience working with students in a library learning space is preferred.
The ideal candidate will support and grow a culture of reading and evaluation of information by:
Leading library and technology instruction for the Lower School. Develop and collaborate on grade-appropriate research units, assisting teachers on electronic and print materials for classroom use.
Sharing in the daily management of the library and learning commons, including reference, readers’ advisory, circulation, and content curation.
Establish and evolve library best practices.
Perform school duties and supervises activities as requested.
Degree in Library and Information Science
Experience as a teacher-librarian in a school setting
Current background clearances
Qualified candidates will have creative leadership vision and skills necessary to manage daily operations. Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills are required.
