The Speyer Legacy School, a K-8 school for accelerated learners in Manhattan, seeks an Assistant Director of Admissions. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, flexible and organized. In addition, the ideal candidate exhibits an enthusiasm for working with students, families, and colleagues and has strong communication skills. This position will report to the Director of Admissions and Financial Aid and will assist with all aspects of admissions and enrollment management, across all divisions of the school. This is a K-8 role and a 12-month, full-time position.
Work collaboratively with the Admissions team in all aspects of the admissions process from inquiry to enrollment, including fielding questions, scheduling student visits, conducting parent and student interviews, following-up communication, and coordinating of Admissions events.
Serve as a member of the Admissions Committee to review files, recommend, and select candidates for admission.
Work with the Admissions team to build and maintain relationships with area schools as well as with educational access programs and educational consultants.
Assist with admissions testing and student screening process.
Be an active and creative thought-partner in the development of enrollment marketing and communications strategy.
Understand and support the mission of the school.
Proficiency with student information systems and databases.
Willingness to learn about the school, its curriculum, and admissions policies.
Strong work ethic combined with a high degree of professionalism and discretion; the ability to maintain absolute confidentiality and to maintain the integrity of the admissions process.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, service-oriented office.
Excellent interpersonal written and verbal communication skills and the ability to comfortably, warmly, and effectively engage with large and small groups of adults and/or students in professional or social settings.
Strong presentation skills.
Ability and willingness to work nights and weekends as needed.
