The Elisabeth Morrow School, a pre-K to 8th grade independent school, seeks candidates for the position of Advancement Services and Stewardship Manager.
Overview: This position will be responsible for providing administrative support in various areas of the development office including database management, annual fund, events, and research. While reporting to the Senior Director of Institutional Advancement, this person will also work closely with colleagues in various capacities. The Development Services and Stewardship Manager will lead prospect research based on development team requests and gift and data entry into Raiser’s Edge NXT. Additionally, this person will maintain the schedule of stewardship steps for the annual fund and campaign, and provide overall office management support to the Development Office.
Reports to: Senior Director of Institutional Advancement
Provide light administrative support to the Senior Director of Institutional Advancement
Help maintain Senior Director’s calendar and schedule meetings, as needed
Prepare meeting materials for the Senior Director
Manage and file hard copies of communications sent by Senior Director
Other duties as assigned by the Senior Director of Institutional Advancement Office management
Develop systems for overseeing the management of the Development Office, including office master calendar, coordinating all staff meetings including: 1-1 staff meetings with Senior Director of Institutional Advancement, Head of School, Development Staff weekly meetings, Prospect Strategy meetings, and Office retreats
Welcomes and directs guests by phone and in person
Maintains inventory of office supplies and coordinates with other EMS departments to develop efficient process for anticipating needs and placing orders
Coordinates with outside vendors for technical support (printers, computers, Raiser’s Edge)
Works closely with colleagues to anticipate mailing schedules and coordinates volunteers for efficient execution of large-scale mailings
Discreetly and confidentially conduct prospect research requests from Development office colleagues
Participate in prospect research training and professional development depending on prior experience
Work with Development Office colleagues to develop a system for prioritizing research requests
Provide initial recommendation for whether an individual should be considered a prospect
Maintain Raiser’s Edge; gift and data entry
Coordinate with the Business Office to reconcile gifts
Coordinate with the database managers/registrar
Help develop and maintain a hierarchy of donor recognition activities
Ensure prompt donor acknowledgement by senior leaders and Trustees
Maintain a list of plaques and signs, dedicating spaces around campus
Maintain a schedule of communications and reports to donors about the impact of their contributions
Ensure the accuracy of donor listings for the annual report of giving
Provide support to annual fund and alumni events and programs
Work closely with the Development team to support planning and executing the Gala
Support planning and execution of cultivation and stewardship events
Superior time management skills, attention to detail, self-starting, and the ability to manage multiple projects at once are required. Fluency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and basic online search engines required.
Experience with CRM tools such as Raiser’s Edge preferred. Experience with prospect research preferred but not required.
A or B.S. and 3 to 5 years experience in a non-profit setting or equivalent.
Salary range $60,000 to $70,000 based on full-time employment, competitive benefits.
