Lead a Francophone Immersion once every three years.
Develop and propose new courses each year, including new Immersion programs
Update Canvas, MVS’ Learning Management Software (LMS), and MyBackpack regularly to keep both students and families informed about student progress and performance
Write recommendation letters for seniors applying to college
Attend faculty meetings
Fulfill all other faculty responsibilities that may occur outside the school day, including writing reports and planning, chaperoning student events, attending school-related functions, which include but are not limited to: Parent Information Night (PIN), Immersion PIN, Immersion Open House, Aries Colloquium, Academic Awards, and Graduation.
Serve as an advisor for a group of 10-12 students
Advisors run and participate in the Morning Greeting Program two weeks/year. Responsibilities include Commons clean up (locker area and stage included) from 8:05 am to 3:45pm and making sure musical instruments are taken to music room and sports bags are taken to locker rooms. Advisors should eat in Commons during their advisory weeks.
Advisors must organize morning announcements by advisory table and take attendance themselves. Sitting with their students to monitor student health and well-being, including student appearance.
Conference with advisees and families during designated conference times and other times as needed.
Communicate individual student concerns, issues, and successes.
Act as point person for family.
Advise students about the best course of study available to that individual student, including Immersion.
Support the school and its leadership as it relates to discipline and community service.
Advisors are responsible for keeping track of the athletic activity and extracurriculars that their advisees participate in.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Demonstrate an ability to develop rapport with students

Lead and/or advise extracurricular activities, which include student clubs and athletics
Communicate with parents, both orally and in writing, effectively and often
Meet all other expectations and responsibilities as outlined by the Employee Handbook
Undergraduate or Master Degree in French or related field
Demonstrate computer literacy and proficiency (e.g., Google suite of applications, student information systems and online grade book programs)
Desire to work with teenage students in an experiential and “hands-on” setting
