The Gateway School is a New York City based K-8, independent day school that transforms the lives of bright students with language-based learning disabilities and attention deficits. In 2019, the school will be enrolling approximately 205 students between the ages of 5-14 years old. Gateway is seeking a leader who demonstrates an authentic passion for the school’s mission, an uncompromising student-centric focus, and the ability to inspire a highly committed and compassionate faculty and staff. He or she will step into a school where there is a devotion to a holistic approach encompassing a robust emphasis on the development of language, literacy, and critical thinking skills, and a deep commitment to direct, multisensory research-based teaching of academic skills as well as social and emotional learning. The next Head will be an accomplished and strategic leader with an unwavering love of students who will guide the school through its continued evolution, building on its strong foundation and working with the Board of Trustees to develop the next strategic plan.
