Bancroft School seeks an experienced, talented teacher who is looking to work in a school where passion and innovation are encouraged and supported. Bancroft School seeks a dedicated and dynamic educator to teach 1st – 5th grade art with possibility to teach a Middle or Upper School Courses in Ceramics or other area of visual art expertise.
Create curriculum and implement Lower School Art Curriculum
Participate in all aspects of Lower School life and community
Integrate curriculum with classroom and other specialists that enriches each other’s discipline by adding a tactile element and avenue for individual expression
Teaching, committee work, and other assigned duties
Coordinate art displays, shows and field trips to local Art museums

Essential skills and experience
A master’s degree in art or education is strongly desired
A minimum of 3-5 years teaching experience is preferred
Commitment to inquiry-based learning and thoughtful curriculum design
A knowledge of pedagogy, specifically art instruction and creative expression
Ability to differentiate, teach a variety of learners, and understand young child development
Fosters the growth of fine motor skills, art vocabulary, art history, and contemporary practice
Comfortable working in painting, printmaking, ceramics, drawing, sculpture, and more
Commitment to integrating 21st century skills
Organized, detail oriented, and ability to multitask
Excellent communication skills- verbal and written
