Working under the supervision of the Head Girls Volleyball coach, the Assistant Volleyball Coach is responsible for assisting the Head Coach in carrying out all activities necessary to accomplish the objectives of this sport. This includes developing and mentoring athletes on and off the court, supervising daily practices, and contributing skill instruction. Practices are typically from 3:45 to 5:30 PM, with games Wednesday and Saturday.
Communicate and collaborate daily with other coaches on topics of technique and training.
Encourage and motivate students individually and as a team
Assist the Head Coach with the administration of practices, matches, and games
Attend to First Aid requirements as necessary
Possess and maintain a coaching philosophy that is in accordance with the mission of Brooks School
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:
1 - 2 years of experience coaching volleyball at a competitive level (collegiate, club, or high school varsity).
Strong background in volleyball skill analysis and ability to demonstrate techniques.
Commitment to the academic success of student-athletes.
Experience in motivating players to achieve maximum levels of performance.
Evidence of ability to interact positively with student-athletes, parents, colleagues and the public.
Demonstration of effective oral and written communication skills.
Familiarity with social media applications such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
Must be reliable, dependable, and passionate about volleyball, and value attention to detail.
A valid driver’s license and willingness to drive 14 passenger school busettes
Pass background check and other references, as needed
