The Peck School, an independent, coed K-8 elementary school located in Morristown, NJ seeks a full-time AfterSchool and Summer Camp Programs Coordinator to enhance the school’s AfterSchool and Summer Camp programs offerings. Through a commitment to character formation and a rigorous and inspirational academic program, The Peck School strives to build in each student the capacity for disciplined learning and consideration of others.
The AfterSchool and Summer Camp Programs Coordinator is a newly-created position and will play a vital role in building out the school’s AfterSchool and Summer Camp offerings to both the existing student community as well as external stakeholders. The school is looking to consolidate ownership of existing AfterSchool and Summer Camp offerings (including enrichment programs, after school, and summer program) as well as explore opportunities for growth in both AfterSchool and Summer Camp income and community outreach. The ideal candidate has a strategic business mind, an academic heart, and the courage to explore, vet, and confidently recommend new opportunities to the Peck administrative team.
The position reports to the Director of Finance & Operations (“DFO”).
Typical Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent;
Demonstrated experience developing new ideas and programs;
A commitment to collaboration and working in a nurturing, K-8 environment;
Strong written and verbal communication skills;
Strong computer skills;
Experience in schools a major plus
Overview of Responsibilities:
Oversee and direct the daily AfterSchool Program:
Work with the Head of the Lower School provide a well supervised and safe environment for students;
Create a structured, thoughtful, and engaging curriculum for AfterSchool that includes daily activities and theme days;
Run and supervise the day-to-day AfterSchool program and direct teachers assigned to AfterSchool;
Provide support with student homework.
Oversee and direct the Lower School and Upper School PEP (Peck Enrichment Program)
Work closely with the Head of the Lower School, Head of the Upper School, the Director of Curriculum and Faculty Development and faculty and staff to design an innovative slate of offerings that engage students and celebrate some of the best aspects of a Peck Education;
Explore partnerships with local organizations to bring additional offerings to our PEP program;
Oversee all logistics, including marketing materials, for the PEP programs;
Serve as the primary recruiter and champion of PEP programs on campus and locally;
Comply with all local, state, and federal regulations in offering PEP programs.
Oversee and direct the Peck Summer Camp Program
Work closely with faculty, administrators, and families to bring an entrepreneurial spirit to the design of first-in-class programing;
Serve as the primary recruiter and champion of Summer Camp programs on campus and locally;
Recruit, hire, train, and support staff required to administer high-quality Summer Camp programs in a safe manner;
Manage and supervise Summer Camp operations during the summer.
Manage all PEP, Summer Camp, and AfterSchool Programs budget and finances with a focus on profitability and grow the school’s net Summer Camp income to agreed-upon targets;
Collaborate with DFO to design and implement a multi-year strategic plan for Summer Camp, PEP and AfterSchool programs to achieve school goals and take better advantage of Peck’s newly renovated and revitalized campus;
Collaborate with faculty and administration to offer PEP, Summer Camp, and AfterSchool Programs that are in line with the school’s mission and academic program;
Collaborate with Admissions and Marketing teams to align outreach and PEP, Summer Camp, and AfterSchool Programs strategies with school’s enrollment objectives;
Partner with Athletic Director on Facility Rentals
