Maternity Leave College Admissions Counselor: MMI Preparatory School is seeking a full-time maternity leave replacement for the College Admissions Counselor for the 2019-2020 school year. This position will begin on August 20, 2019, and the individual hired would overlap with the current College Admissions Counselor for a short time. This position reports to the Academic Dean. Qualified candidates will have the following:
Bachelor’s Degree required (Master’s degree preferred) and a minimum of 3 – 5 years of experience in college counseling in a private or independent school setting or selective college admissions.
Familiarity with the goals, objectives, and mission of an independent college preparatory school.
The ability to respond effectively to the needs of a diverse student and parent population.
Possess strong computer and technological competence, including familiarity with Naviance.
Knowledge of colleges, their academic programs, admission policies, and policies and procedures.
Knowledge of the college financial aid process.
Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal.
Warmth, enthusiasm, and patience are highly valued.
Teaching experience preferred.
