Lakeside School, an independent 5-12 coeducational day school located in North Seattle, is currently recruiting for an Assistant Director, Alumni Giving. This position joins a 10-person development office with the primary duties of co-managing and co-administering the school's Annual Fund, which raises more than $2.5 million for the school's operating budget. This exempt, 1.0 FTE position follows a full year appointment.
Co-manage and implement the Annual fund program including outreach strategies, goal setting, and acknowledgement process.
Work seamlessly with the alumni relations and major and planned giving programs to ensure a strategic, effective, donor-oriented approach to fund and friend raising.
Recruit and train volunteers.
Create, manage and participate in events and activities that impact the program.
Collaborate with communications staff to develop tools that support fundraising efforts.
Work with director of alumni relations to help instill a culture of philanthropy in the school's 12th grade students.
Generate and analyze reports.
Qualifications, Experience and Education
Liberal arts bachelor's degree of equivalent.
Two to four years experience in development work, preferably in the not-for-profit or education sectors.
Prior experience managing volunteers desired.
Demonstrated experience developing and implementing successful fundraising programs.
Excellent listening skills and measurable track record of gift asking.
Superior organizational skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks.
Exceptional verbal and written communication capabilities.
Computer proficiency with PC platform, spreadsheets, and databases.
Demonstrated cultural awareness, including knowledge of themselves and the cultural lenses they bring to interactions. The candidate will understand different perspectives; interact respectfully with cultures other than their own; and cultivate meaningful relationships with people that have different cultural frameworks.
Candidates must satisfactorily complete two criminal history background checks.
