The Rashi School, the Boston area’s Reform Jewish independent school serving students in grades K–8, seeks a Middle School Math Teacher (30 hours per week) for the 2019-2020 school year. Rashi is distinguished by exceptional academics, a strong sense of community, and a deep commitment to Jewish learning and social justice.
Content includes Pre-Algebra, Algebra, and Geometry.
Teach one section of 7th grade and assist one section of 8th grade math, five days a week (two periods total each day).
Collaborate with the other Middle School math teachers.
Maintain regular communication with parents.
Write report cards.
Participate in Middle School Back-to-School Night and two full days of parent-teacher conferences.
Attend weekly faculty meetings on Wednesday afternoons.
Lead a Middle School advisory
Participate in other aspects of Middle School life as determined by the Head of Middle School.
The ideal candidate will have an undergraduate or advanced degree in math and previous experience teaching middle and/or high school math. A passion for math and an outstanding ability to inspire and challenge students are essential.
