Villa Academy is seeking a dynamic, knowledgeable and child-centered full time Kindergarten Instructional Assistant. This benefitted 7-8 hour/day position, late August through mid-June, works in partnership with the other Kindergarten Instructional Assistant and supports the Kindergarten team of two teachers. Under the direction of the classroom teachers, the successful applicant will work with students, in addition to performing a variety of other needed services. Duties vary widely and include instructional work with individuals, small groups and whole class, clerical and administrative tasks, creation of materials, supervision of recess or lunchroom, and other duties as needed. In addition to work in the classroom, all instructional assistants attend in-service days, faculty/staff meetings, appropriate training sessions, and participate in many all-school events.
Education and Experience:
Early Childhood/Community College and/or University degree (Teacher certification considered a plus!)
Experience in working with young children in school/church setting
Volunteer work with children in a variety of settings
