Provide ongoing academic, socio-emotional, and/or behavioral support at the direction of the Lower School Lead Teachers.
Work one-on-one or with a small group of students, 1st through 4th grades, throughout the work week.
Responsible for assigned supervision duties
Responsible to assist in planning and implementing class lessons as needed.
Assist with the instruction of small groups, individual students and the class as a whole to support students
Maintain a climate of trust and mutual respect, which encourages students to risk asking questions, expressing their opinions, and making mistakes necessary to learning process.
Demonstrate excellent organization, time management and follow-through skills
Exhibit the ability to work as part of a team
Attend all meetings
Demonstrate commitment to social justice and working with an array of different values and people of a variety of backgrounds.
Experience and/or interest in differentiated instruction, project-based, constructivist approach to teaching and learning, as well as portfolio, authentic, and performance assessment.

Passion for teaching and understanding of and respect for students’ individual learning styles

Communicate respectfully, thoughtfully, sensitively to parent/ guardians with an awareness of different families cultures, values and needs.

Perform additional duties, as needed and assigned
Degree in education or have completed student teaching.
Minimum of two years classroom experience at the elementary school level
Excellent organization, communication and writing skills
Excellent classroom management skills Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team
Applicants should have a progressive, creative approach to teaching, and strong classroom management skills.
