We are currently seeking a part-time Technology Support Specialist for our Laptop Program.
Position: Technology Support Specialist- Laptop Program (Part-Time)
Reports to: Network Administrator
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Job Summary: The primary focus of this position is to provide technical support for the school's laptop program to Faculty, Staff, and Students.
Assists the Network Administrator and the Director of Educational Technology in performing their duties.
Assists Network Administrator with the preparation of laptops for the yearly rollouts. Provides students, faculty, and staff with technical support on all issues relating to laptops, both Mac and PC, with the primary focus on Mac laptops.
This includes, but is not limited to, the setup of loaner laptops, the re-imaging of student/faculty laptops, troubleshooting printing, email, and networking problems.
Is in contact with the school's laptop repair depot for the physical repair of the Mac laptops. This includes arranging for service, preparing for shipment, proper documentation, and follow up of all service calls.
Stays current with new technology trends for support, repair, and troubleshooting as related to the above-stated work.
At least an Associates degree in Information Technology (or related field) or equivalent certifications/experience in technical systems support.
At least one year experience supporting technology (Windows, Macs, Chromebooks) at a help-desk or similar situation.
Good interpersonal, communication, problem solving and collaborative skills.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Outstanding time management and organizational skills, the ability to accurately prioritize tasks and to work in a fast-paced environment with limited supervision.
Knowledge of commonly used information technology concepts, practices, and procedures.
