This is a full-time position in the Lower School and involves working with students in both small and large group settings. In addition to teaching and supervising fourth-grade students, the teaching candidate is someone who is eager to work in a collaborative community. It is important this candidate has experience and is enthusiastic about reading, writing, and math workshop, as well as the ability to assess students’ progress both orally and in writing. We are looking for candidates who can utilize researched-based knowledge to work with colleagues and the divisional administrator to provide leadership and expertise in the lower school.
Candidates should have a BA in Elementary Education and 3-5 years of experience teaching (preferably in an independent school). We are looking for a creative educator who is committed to helping students reach their full potential and partnering with families. This candidate should have excellent oral and written communication skills, experience and confidence in using formal and informal assessments with students to monitor student progress and achievement of instructional objectives.
