Sheridan is seeking a dynamic, collaborative, student-centered long-term (maternity leave) substitute 3rd grade co-teacher with a background in and a passion for progressive, social-justice education. Sheridan’s program integrates Reading and Writing Workshop, Eureka and Context for Learning math and Responsive Classroom into classrooms with about 25 students and two full-time, lead teachers. A high interest in and commitment to collaboration is a must.
The successful candidate will have a thorough background in progressive instruction, experience using a variety of assessment techniques, strong instructional and classroom-management skills and experience working closely with colleagues and parents. Additional responsibilities include regular communication with parents, participation in department and faculty meetings, and lunch and recess duties several times a week.
