NSU University School is seeking a full-time Teacher Assistant to substitute teach classes in performing and visual arts when arts teachers are absent. Teacher Assistants also provide assistance in areas of administration and operation.
About NSU University School
We are a private, independent school in Davie, Florida, located on the beautiful campus of Nova Southeastern University. The arts department is housed in the state-of-the-art AutoNation Center for the Arts, where we provide education in the visual and performing arts to students in grades 3-12. We were recently featured on NBC 6’s segment, Brag About Your School.
Our class sizes are relatively small — 24 students max — and we are very invested in providing our arts teachers with the resources necessary for success.

Teach Lower, Middle, and Upper School arts classes.
Implement lesson plans in arts education.
Communicate consistently with administration, teachers, and school counselors about student progress.
Create a welcoming environment that reflects the school’s mission of challenging each student to achieve academic excellence within a nurturing atmosphere.
Attend department, team, and faculty meetings.
Attend other events as directed by the Director of Arts.

Bachelor or advanced degree in visual arts, a related field, or a field relevant to the duties of the position.
Preferably 2 or more years of teaching experience, including curriculum design with integration of arts in the classroom.
Knowledge of effective instructional techniques and innovative modes of course delivery adaptable to a variety of learning styles.
Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to articulate technical information to non-technical students and faculty.
Experience working in a team-oriented environment.
Willingness to adapt in a fast-paced work environment where roles and responsibilities are flexible.
