The Masters School seeks an Advancement Operations Manager. This newly added position will report to the Director of Advancement and will work closely with and support the Director. The Advancement Operations Manager will focus on building the donor community through the creation of meaningful opportunities to identify, engage and retain donors at all levels of giving. This is a year-round, full-time position.
Create, support and oversee a comprehensive school-wide donor acknowledgment, stewardship, and recognition plan to meaningfully recognize all gifts; includes acknowledgement correspondence and publication of donor lists, thank you events, named gift recognition, and dedication events for larger gifts
Generate creative solutions to enhance, strengthen and maintain the school’s close relationship with individual donors
Scholarship and Endowment funds reporting
Monitor annual, major gift and campaign progress, and provide periodic reporting
Work with Director of Advancement to prepare reports for the Board of Trustees
Support Trustees in the articulation of annual fund gifts, major gifts and planned giving fundraising needs
Facilitate interaction of Trustees, Head of School, and Director of Advancement with major and planned giving prospects, top annual fund contributors and key volunteers
Assist in all aspects of the school’s development program
Coordinate cultivation and solicitation activities with other development team members
Assist in the recruitment, training, and organization of volunteers
Assist the Director of Institutional Advancement, including executive support, travel arrangements and itineraries, meeting arrangements, and other projects
Portfolio management support for all major gift officers
Stay current with industry trends, innovations, and best practices
Each member of the Advancement Office fully participates and supports a number of special events each year; some evening and weekend work will be required.
Commitment to embracing the mission of The Masters School
5-10 years of administrative leadership experience in an independent school or other relevant setting
Proficiency using Raiser’s Edge events module to track event budgets, generate reports, and benchmark results
Ability to think strategically about donor engagement
Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to comfortably, warmly and effectively engage with large groups in social settings
Superlative organizational skills and attention to detail
Positive energy and a high degree of initiative
Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality and the integrity of the advancement process, and exercise good judgment and tactfulness in all situations
Ability to organize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously with close attention to detail and prioritization to meet competing deadlines
Be flexible and proactive, and possess the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
