General Statement of Responsibility

     The junior varsity head coach will report to the director of athletics and collaborates with all program stakeholders: varsity head coach, assistant coaches, athletes, faculty/staff and parents. The position manages all aspects of a competitive junior varsity basketball program. 

Duties:

• Direct coaching responsibilities inclusive of: program organization, practice planning, and game preparation and competition
• Support KO commitment to student athletes through prioritisation of student academic success, character development and involvement with the campus community at-large 
• Foster program cohesion grades 6-12
• Develop game skills, strategies, and knowledge of the rules for adequate participation in competition as well as prepare the players to be future varsity athletes
• Create a competitive, fun, and positive environment for all athletes
• Assist varsity coach in team selection, pre-season workouts, and player status
• Administrative tasks including but not limited to: prepare and update team rosters, oversee individual and team stats, provide game wrap ups to athletics office and KO personnel
•  Provide end of season collection of information, uniforms and award winners
• Assist with end of season celebration
• Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director
