Wye River Upper School seeks a talented and innovative educator to teach English-Language Arts part-time for the 2019-2020 school year with the possibility of leading to full time employment. This educator is a collaborator in an innovative and dynamic educational community. The selected candidate should have a desire to contribute to the school community by sharing their passions and participating in school functions, professional development, field trips and other special activities
Specific responsibilities of the position include:
Teach two sections of high school English-Langauge Arts and one section of a Humanities elective
Plan for differentiated, project-based, and student-centered learning
Create, collect, and analyze authentic student data to drive instruction
Assess student work and provide consistent feedback and communication with parents and guardians
Participate in school meetings, professional development, field trips, special activities
Be committed to student learning, personal growth, and embrace a growth mindset
Participate in an overnight off-site student experience
Bachelors or Masters degree in English or similar field
Demonstrated teaching skills and experience, but related experience also considered
Excellent oral, written, and organizational skills
Comfort with technology and social media including a 1:1 laptop program, Google applications, and an online course management system
Genuine excitement for and ability to work with high school students
