The Meadowbrook School of Weston, a pre-kindergarten through 8th-grade school located in Weston, MA, seven miles west of Boston, seeks a talented educator-leader for the Multicultural Affairs Office Internship. The intern program is a paid, one-year commitment with benefits that is designed to provide professional growth for an innovative future teacher-leader. The program entails a teaching partnership between the intern and mentor teacher in addition to an administrative position on the Multicultural Affairs Office. The intern for the 2019-2020 school year will work alongside the early elementary division that ranges from our Junior Kindergarten to our 2nd grade.

In the Multicultural Affairs Office, the intern will be engaged in communicating the work of the office to the Meadowbrook school community and the community at-large. The intern will also work to support the Multicultural Teaching Institute (happening the week after graduation), the Meadowbrook Vacation program, and other community initiatives of the office. Passion and commitment to equity and inclusion work, racial literacy and cultural competency are essential to success in this role.
The intern’s classroom experience will provide lesson-planning experience as well as supervised teaching and curriculum development opportunities in order to further develop their teaching practice. The intern will begin the school year with observation and evolve into a larger teaching load.
