Aidan Montessori School, located in Woodley Park, Washington, DC, is accepting applications for the position of Communication and Advancement Associate for the 2019 – 2020 school year. This is a part-time, benefited position, with on-site hours from 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM, Mondays through Fridays.
The Communication and Advancement Associate would be responsible for the following:
Organize, coordinate, and attend meetings as required to plan, promote, and execute all school-related Special Events.
Create and manage content on social media accounts.
Assist with publication production, content research and writing, and editing for all marketing collateral, newsletters, announcements, website updates, school publications, and annual reports.
Photograph and video school-related events and activities.
Support Advancement Office with donor cultivation, database organization and maintenance, and file management.
Candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree with 1-3 years of administrative experience, preferably in a non-profit organization. Knowledge of Montessori is helpful, but not required. In addition to exceptional communication skills and attention to detail, ideal candidate will also have a combination of demonstrated knowledge, abilities, and interests in the following areas:
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft, Google, and Adobe Creative Suite;
Photography and videography skills;
Experience using Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge preferred;
Ability to multitask, work under pressure, prioritize and meet deadlines;
Work effectively both independently and as part of a team;
Maintain strict confidentiality and data security at all times;
Able to work nights and weekends when needed.
