The Agnes Irwin School, a Pre-K through 12th grade all girls' school in Rosemont, PA, is seeking an experienced, dynamic, and creative Middle School History Long-Term Substitute Teacher. This opportunity will begin approximately September 16, 2019 and end approximately December 13, 2019.
This opportunity involves teaching three sections of 8th grade United States History. Additionally, this position will provide classroom coverage for absent teachers when necessary and perform other duties as required.
Successful candidates should possess:
Bachelor's degree in history or a similar discipline; Master's degree preferred
Minimum of two years' teaching experience preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Proven record of engaging students in class discussions, organizing and managing a classroom in an effective and safe manner, fostering critical reading and writing skills and inspiring a love of learning
Strong interpersonal and communications skills
Willingness and ability to work in a rigorous academic environment with colleagues who value collaboration as well as independence; willingness to perform duties in addition to teaching
Proficiency with the use of computer technology relevant to the classroom
