Bullis School seeks an innovative, energetic, and dedicated candidate for the role of part-time Fall Dance Activity Coach for the Upper School Dance Activity Program. The Upper School Fall Dance Activity meets from 3:30-5:30 pm on weekdays during the fall, with some exceptions for school holidays and programs. Student auditions will take place during the week of August 26th and regular rehearsals will begin after Labor Day. The Dance Activity Coach will report directly to the Visual and Performing Arts Coordinator and work closely with our full-time Dance Instructor. This is a part-time position which includes a stipend of $3,000.
The Fall Activity Dance Coach is responsible for conducting auditions, planning and leading rehearsals, choreographing performance pieces, communicating with parents, and collaborating with additional arts department colleagues in creating a culminating fall dance performance. Responsibilities also include a short early afternoon performance on Thursday, October 24th during the homecoming pep rally, several extended tech rehearsals during the week of November 4th, and a culminating show on Friday, November 8th at 7:00 pm.
For rehearsals, Bullis School has a formal dance studio equipped with a marley floor, mirrors, and a quality sound system.
Qualified candidates should possess following education & experience:
Prior experience with choreographing and teaching dance to high school age students
Must be able to exchange accurate information in a professional manner with parents, students, faculty, staff and other professionals
