Congressional School is seeking a Coordinator for our Little School. The Little School Coordinator handles a variety of roles in the Little School building and provides support to the Director of Early Childhood and Primary School, faculty, and staff. The Little School Coordinator is responsible for duties including scheduling, substitute coverage, maintaining classroom ratios, daily office operations, updating licensing records, fulfilling supplies orders, and providing general support services. The Little School Coordinator will have the ability to handle confidential information appropriately, provide a high level of customer service, and enjoy working with adults and children. Additionally, the Little School Coordinator will demonstrate initiative and independent thinking and will have the ability to proactively anticipate and manage issues and events.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Operates as part of the Little School team, performing a variety of functions, and administrative tasks.
Arrange substitute coverage in the event of teacher absences in Little School.
Manages teacher schedules and time off to ensure proper coverage in all classrooms.
Serves as first approval for payroll in a semi-monthly basis
Assists classroom teachers to ensure ratios at all times.
Manages licensing requirements and staff documents.
Ensures that all procedures are followed in accordance to licensing requirements, maintaining accurate and easily retrievable records as needed.
Provide admin support to faculty and staff, and the Director of Early Childhood and Primary School.
Assist with various school events as needed, including set up, greeting, and other tasks etc.
Monitor teacher and office supplies for the Little School and re-order as necessary.
Performs specific functions related to medical emergencies, security, and crisis management codes and systems.
Maintains strict confidentiality regarding children and their families.
Sets up and manages online parent-teacher conferences.
Provides assistance with organizing school picture day for the Little School.
May occasionally fill in for front desk administrative team members.
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Early Childhood & Primary School.
Idealcandidate must have:
Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood and/or Elementary Education
Minimumof 2 years’ experience working with children
Proficient knowledge of the academic and social emotional development of young children
Exceptional customer service skills
Strong initiative and organizational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
An ability to work in a joyful, collegial and collaborative environment
A sense of humor, warm personality, and growth mindset
